ShipSnatch privacy

Last updated 14 October 2026

ShipSnatch is a free browser game by Radomir. There are no accounts, no ads and nothing to buy. This page says what is stored when you play and how visits are counted.

Playing the game

Your browser keeps an anonymous player ID (ship-snatch:player-id), your sound settings and your achievement progress, so a returning captain keeps their achievements. When you play, the game server receives the player ID and the captain name you enter, or a generated one, and stores them with the achievements you unlock. Clearing your browser's site data removes the browser's copy.

Visit statistics

ShipSnatch uses DataFast to count visits and a few game moments, such as pressing Play, the game finishing loading, clearing a wave, unlocking an achievement or winning the campaign. These carry coarse labels like the wave reached or whether you play on a phone, never your captain name or player ID. A small bar on the start screen asks whether a cookie may be used for this.

DataFast also counts the pages that known crawlers read, such as Googlebot indexing the site or ChatGPT opening a page to answer someone. For those requests only, the host sends DataFast the crawler's IP address and the name it identifies itself with, so DataFast can check that the crawler is genuine. Visits by people are not part of this.

Hosting

Netlify serves this website and Render runs the game server and its database. Like any host, they process your IP address in server logs to deliver the game and keep the service secure.

Questions

To ask what is stored about your player ID, or to have it deleted, message @radomir_3 on X with the ID shown in your browser's site data.
